Residence Halls

UNCG's campus includes 25 residence halls. New students (first-time UNCG students and students not currently living on campus) can designate a preference for specific residence halls in which they would like to live. These include the following: High Rise Area (Cone, Grogan, and Reynolds); Gray Drive Area (Moore/Strong, Phillips, Ragsdale/Mendenhall, and Weil/Winfield); and living-learning communities or special interest communities.

While students are not required to live on campus, it is an important part of the college experience. Research has indicated that living on campus increases student involvement and supports academic achievement.

You can learn more about each hall by visiting Housing and Residence Life. This site contains information about amenities, special programs, and gender/class restrictions in each hall, as well as room dimensions.

Beyond this, the best way to learn what a residence hall looks like is to visit in person. During campus tours, prospective students have a chance to visit a residence hall and see what a room looks like. If you've not yet visited our campus, we encourage you to sign up for a tour.
