Applying to UNCG

Freshmen (students entering UNCG straight from high school) should first complete an Undergraduate Application for Admission. The easiest and fastest way to apply is online, but you may also print a PDF version.

Please fill out the application as completely as possible, including the sections related to campus safety and North Carolina residency. Failure to complete these sections may delay your application. Also, be sure to sign your application (and obtain a parent's signature if under 18).

Along with your application, please submit:

  • Official high school transcript, including a list of courses in progress
  • Official college transcript(s) if you have completed any college courses while in high school
  • Official scores from the SAT I or ACT, including the writing component. You must request that your official scores be forwarded to UNCG directly from the testing agency. (For the SAT I, UNCG’s school code is 5913; for the ACT, the school code is 3166.)
  • Application fee

UNCG does not require letters of recommendation. Essays are optional, although they are required for consideration for merit-based university scholarships. Please see the  application for details.

Additional application requirements may apply for transfer, adult, international, and former students.
